District Principal and Vice-Principal Appointments 

The Quesnel School District is pleased to announce the following appointments, effective immediately:

District Principal – Indigenous Education

The Quesnel School District is pleased to announce that Ms. Jolene King has been appointed as District Principal of Indigenous Education. She holds a Bachelor of Education degree and a Master of Educational Leadership Degree.

Ms. King served as the Vice-Principal of Quesnel Junior School in 2025. Prior to that she was the district Vice-Principal of early learning and child care from 2022 to 2024, and has held various other principal and vice-principal positions in the district.  Jolene has been interim District Principal of Indigenous Education since November 2025.

Vice-Principal – Quesnel Junior School

The Quesnel School District is pleased to announce that Ms. Maria Dawson has been appointed as Vice-Principal of Quesnel Junior School. 

Ms. Dawson has been teaching in the district since 2019 and prior to that, worked as support staff since 2009. Recently, Ms. Dawson served as Vice-Principal of École Red Bluff Lhtako since 2024.

Ms. Dawson holds a Master of Critical Studies and has been interim Vice-Principal at Quesnel Junior School since November 2025, replacing Ms. Jolene King, who has moved to District Principal of Indigenous Education.

Vice-Principal – École Red Bluff Lhtako

The Quesnel School District is pleased to announce that Ms. Amanda Younker has been appointed to the position of Vice-Principal of École Red Bluff Lhtako Elementary and is replacing Ms. Maria Dawson, who has moved to Vice-Principal of Quesnel Junior School.

Ms. Younker has been teaching in the district since 2024, and has recently taught at Correlieu Secondary. Amanda has been interim Vice-Principal at Ecole Red Bluff Lhtako since November 2025.

Ms. Younker holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology/Anthropology from the University of Fraser Valley, Bachelor of Education from Simon Fraser University and a Master’s of Education in Educational Leadership from the Memorial University of Newfoundland.
